CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19)

INFECTION PREVENTION & CONTROL POLICY

FOR CLJ LONDON

All of us have been affected by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and we have really missed being able to offer you the services that we know you love. We are very much looking forward to seeing you as soon as the restrictions allow.

Our priority is to keep you as safe as possible, and prior to re-opening our services we have implemented a number of changes which we would like to make you aware of. During the time that CLJ London has been closed, we have completed a number of courses including the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Infection Prevention and Control course which is accredited by the Guild of Professional Beauty Therapists Ltd, the UK trade body for our industry. We have since made a number of changes in the way that we operate that you will notice when commence our services.

APPOINTMENT SAFETY

Should I or any of our artists feel ill or have symptoms of COVlD-19, I / they will self-isolate immediately. This may mean that we have to cancel your appointment at short notice. We appreciate that this may be inconvenient but it is done entirely for your own safety.

Likewise, if you or any of the people you live with feel ill or display any symptoms of COVlD-19 – please advise us as soon as possible. We understand that this will be extremely disappointing, especially if you have booked us for a special occasion, unfortunately you will not be able to attend your appointment. We have amended our booking terms and conditions and you will not be charged for any appointments which you miss due to illness.

ON THE DAY OF YOUR APPOINTMENT

We have carried out a risk assessment on all treatments and we are confident that we can continue to provide these safely. For weddings, appointments on location and group bookings, we will need to set up in an area that is as quiet as possible, ideally in a separate room if available, away from clients and other professionals working on the day. Clients will be asked to come individually for their hair and makeup appointments at their scheduled time, which will be clearly advised.

To maintain social distancing, observers or others present who are not having makeup on the day, will not be permitted.

On arrival your temperature will be checked with a non-contact infrared thermometer. A high temperature is one of the common symptoms of Coronavirus, if an increased temperature is detected then unfortunately we will be unable to proceed with your booking at that time. A minimum of 14 days must have elapsed before an appointment can be rescheduled.

We understand the importance of hand hygiene and will ensure that we have washed our hands thoroughly in accordance with NHS recommendations just before you arrive. All clients will be required to wash their hands and apply hand sanitiser, please ensure that you wash your hands immediately before coming for your hair and makeup slot and avoid touching other surfaces whist waiting.

We want to make your treatment as safe, comfortable and enjoyable as possible. If you have any concerns or questions, please do not hesitate to let us know and we will do all we can to help.

Myself and our artists will be using personal protective equipment (PPE) during your treatment. This may include disposable gloves, face masks, protective face visor or aprons where appropriate. We understand and will not be offended if you wish to wear disposable gloves or an apron during your treatment.

All tools, products and equipment will be disinfected or sterilised in line with the specific manufacturers’ instructions for your safety, in between every client and at the end of the day. Where possible we will utilise single use items during a treatment that will be disposed of safely after use in order to protect you from cross infection. All disposable items will be bagged and safely removed from the treatment area between each client.

PAYMENTS

In order to avoid the handling of cash, we ask that you pay for your treatment prior to your appointment via a bank transfer.

CORONAVIRUS LEGISLATION

The opening up of public places following the COVID-19 outbreak is being supported by the NHS Test and Trace service. In line with other government guidance businesses are required by law to keep an accurate temporary record of visitors for 21 days and to assist NHS Test and Trace with requests for that data if needed for contact tracing and the investigation of local outbreaks. The government will  work with relevant bodies to  make the process for recording customers and visitors  compliant with data protection legislation.

All of these procedures have been implemented for your safety, mine and that of our artists. We will continue to take advice from the Government and the NHS regarding safe practice and will amend them as necessary.

Thank you for your understanding.
