Hello, I’m Carrie Leanne Jessup founder of CLJ London, I am so pleased you have found us! I wanted to write a personal message to you all so you could really get a feel for who I am, how I started and what to expect from us here. My love for hair and make-up probably started from around the age of 4! - I remember instructing my mum that I would no longer require her hairstyling services for school, I would be rocking my own ponytail! When I hit my teens, the passion for all things beauty related had grown into a full on obsession. Not only was I the go to friend for eyebrow shaping, I was also teaching my peers all about cleanser and the importance of moisturising daily. 

I remember my nan buying me two books for Christmas - one book on make-up and beauty, the other on hairstyles. I read those books cover to cover and I couldn’t wait to share all the tips and tricks I had learned. The one thing that I did learn early on, was just how powerful hair and make-up really is. My final year of secondary school saw me go through a stage of low confidence and self esteem - Something I know a number of us have gone through. But when I sat down in front of the mirror and did my hair and make-up I instantly felt confident and I felt I could take on the world! 

Being able to look at my reflection and say “Hey girl, you’re beautiful!” was and still is the driving force behind becoming a hair and make-up artist.

To me there is nothing more beautiful than a woman confident in her own skin. Self love is something we should all be doing. I am a huge advocate of building women up and showing them just how unique and beautiful they are. Celebrating women and their individuality is at the core of my brand. I don’t believe in a one size fits all, we are all different so we should be embracing this.

CLJ London has been built on passion and a love for people. It has evolved from one single girl - me! To a whole team of equally talented and passionate girls, who, like me love to make women look and feel beautiful. They make me incredibly proud and seeing their work and the women they are empowering only reinforces our brands philosophy.
